Rebekah Prasad, MPH, RN, FNP
Nursing Coordinator, GHC Ethiopia

Rebekah joined the GHC team in July, 2009, bringing with her a breadth of experience and an enthusiasm for capacity building. As the Nursing Coordinator for GHC in Ethiopia, she is helping develop inpatient and outpatient nursing protocols for MDR-TB, including a robust outpatient home DOTS program for MDR-TB patients. She is also developing continuing education modules for nurses, and taking on program planning for the GHC’s future Zahara Center for children infected and affected by HIV. Rebakah has extensive experience in community health and hospital-based care of both children and adults. She received a Masters in Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health with a concentration in Maternal and Child Health, and recently completed Family Nurse Practitioner training in Boston. She has worked in community health in Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and Indonesia. Before joining the GHC, she most recently worked as a Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital and for Boston Health Care for the Homeless, examining utilization of services amongst this vulnerable population.
